March!
I still do Wordle every day.
And Care Bear and I text our results Grandma Sweat.
But Andrew found a new game called Quordle that
he and I do most days as well. It's pretty fun.
Fun new National Parks puzzle.
Andrew got me a gift card for a massage
and pedicure at a spa downtown for Valentine's.
So fun!
The Hallstroms came to NC!
Jonas was checking out Duke's doctoral
program in Physics. We got to have dinner with
him, Carly, Ang, and Forrest. It was a super quick
visit, but so fun!
Once in a while, Andrew and I will get to
go out with the Piedmont Bird Club.
This month we saw some fun waterfowl.
Including Buffleheads!
Went out for breakfast at Tex and Shirley's afterward.
Part of my calling is to help lead the Temple and Family
History Committee.
Andrew and I did some research on the status
of our Familysearch center.
It's not great.
Spring tennis started!
Love love love it!
This is one of my 3.5 teams with a lot of friends.
Destiny and I started a weight loss challenge.
We text each other pics almost every day of our
workouts. Mine mainly consist of walking
while C is at seminary and playing tennis.
NAI, the English school where I volunteer,
had a special event for International Women's Day.
It was SO fun.
I don't usually take pics when I'm there,
but here are some of my English student friends.
All of these friends got bumped up to the next
level of English, so I don't get to hang out with them anymore.
Eklaus did, too.
Veronique, the shorter one is still in my class.
So is Giriberita.
I was so proud of Nour for writing and reciting a poem
as part of the program.
Some of our students also sang.
Look at this gorgeous tea set!
Ethiopia got bumped out of our class a long time
ago, but I still love running into her some days.
More of our current and former students.
When I get a 6 on Quordle,
that a GOOD day for me!
Beautiful sunrise
Temple night with Drew
Pi Day!
Care Bear got a few days off of school in March
before it was real spring break. We headed toward the
mountains. But it started on a Wednesday, so first
we headed to Dave and Buster's. Woo hoo!
We stayed one night with the Blaus.
We hadn't seen them in forever!
It was so fun to hang out and play games
and talk and laugh and stay up way too late.
Then we were off to Pigeon Forge.
We saw two bald eagles in a tree on the way!
So cool.
Andrew's foot wasn't up for it,
but C and I spent a day at Dollywood.
Love that place!
It was super crowded.
More busy than Christmas, which surprised me.
Funnel cake.
American kestrel
We got to watch a cool bird show.
With cute owls.
And another bald eagle.
This glass worker is a doppelganger for my
friend, Chrissy's husband. It's kinda crazy.
We stayed all day.
They even extended the park hours and
we stayed that extra hour.
It's so fun!
The next day we got to do some other touristy
things around Pigeon Forge.
We got to a ride a non-Disney version of Soarin.
It was FANTASTIC.
I want to do it again.
It was steampunk themed and was done really well.
The fountains were green for St. Patrick's Day
My cousin, Chenille, is a gospel singer.
Her husband and kids also perform.
They were competing in a Country Music competition there.
We hadn't met in person before,
but I thought it would be so fun to watch.
She and her husband sand a couple duets.
So good.
Chenille's parents were also in town from Florida,
so we got to visit with them.
Her dad is my dad's first cousin.
They are a great couple and it was fun to get to know them a bit.
The afternoon was rainy,
but we still explored a bit.
Ate at the Old Mill.
It was delicious.
Found another arcade where we could coin push.
This bag totally reminded me of W.
I liked how this bridge lit up.
Girls with kaleidoscope eyes. :)
Before we headed home, we did some service
with one of the state parks.
They needed help weeding invasive species
out of their fields. I didn't think to get a pic until
Andrew was heading in. Can you see him in the background?
Driving home.
Stopped for yummy Japanese at Sake Sushi
in Black Mountain.
Whitney blows my mind with her
crochet skills.
She made this!
Unbelievable!
I took Bea out to brunch for her birthday.
Homemade apple pie!
Our friends, the Blomquists, had a Pi Day party
that was a couple weeks late.
Yummy!
They are raising chickens.
They are so cute!
Care Bear is raising seedlings for our garden!
Our neighbors irises look so pretty right now.
Swarm Game date night.
Mugsy Bogues was there!
Always fun.
Stopped for Mexican at San Luis afterward.
Nicolle came into town!
It's always fun to catch up with these two,
who have been my friends for YEARS.
Nicolle was in town to surprise her mom for
her 80th birthday.
We had to get one pic with the twins in it. :)
Sometimes our neighborhood has fun colored lights under the bridge.
Tia Elodia is not doing well.
She's on hospice care.
My parents go visit her in San Saba
when they can.
Care Bear and I got to go to a Water Circus!
We had great seats!
It was kinda cheesy.
But the performers were still awesome.
Care Bear's life goals.
So strong!
Happy we could go.
We always have spring break at Easter Time,
so we don't have any strong Easter traditions.
But we're trying to do better.
One of the things we decided to do
this year was get Easter flowers to decorate
the house.
Loved having them around as a symbol
of beauty and life.
I also got ONE singular tulip to bloom in my yard.
Jayne and I went to to Korner's Folly,
a home in Kernersville that you can tour.
I loved these tiles.
Check out the ceiling!
My head is touching it!
One of the big, open rooms upstairs.
This cabinet was so elaborate!
The kids of the wealthy family that
lived here would do plays up here.
