What February 2024 Looked Like

I've had such issues with blogger lately, that I had given up on my blog...

But I finally figured out what was wrong today! (Or at least figured out a work-around.)

So I'm going to try to do some catch-up.

Sabrina is a brand ambassador for Lululemon.
They had an unveiling for their new photos
in the store.
It was so fun to be there with her for her big day!

Ta-Da!

I got a random gift delivery on my doorstep.

How cute is that???
I felt so loved!

Care Bear had a random day off on a Tuesday.
We went to the cat cafe.

She would LOVE a cat!

And stopped for brunch at Chez Genese
in downtown Greensboro. Love that place.

The Browns (current mission president and companion)
had all the stake presidents and wives over for dinner at their house.
It was so fun to visit with these awesome people.

It was a short but sweet YW basketball season.
Caroline had fun. I'm proud of her for going out
there and hustling, even though she doesn't
have a lot of experience playing bball.

We got to live stream Whitney's chorus concert.
If we can't be there in person, this was the next best thing.

Date night at box car

Rocking the top two spots at Space Invaders

Cool hawk in the tree

Random visit to Statesville on President's Day.

It was kind of a let down.
All the cute shops we wanted to visit were closed.

Valentine's photos on the heart-shaped lyra!!

So beautiful!
(and painful...)

My valentine's gift for Andrew:
Beef Jerky hearts

Hand cut!

House finch couple at the feeder

Cute little yellow-rumped warbler

Daffodils!
Spring must be right around the corner!

Saw this little guy walking around Adams Farm lake.
I didn't realize he was a RARE find.
He sparked a bit of a frenzy among the Piedmont Bird Club!
He's a Ross' goose.
I'd never seen one before and Merlin couldn't identify him.

SUPER BOWL!!

Kim, my ministering sister dropped by all these goodies!

What a fun gift!

Mars Hill Choral Festival!
Caroline auditioned for a big state-wide choral festival
this year at Mars Hill University. And she got it!
They received the music a couple months ago,
learned it on their own, and all 300+ students
gathered for all-day rehearsal on Friday and half-day on Saturday.
Then they performed on Saturday evening.

Can you spot her on the third-ish row?

She had a fabulous time and would love to do it again.

Proud parents

300 of the top high school choral students from NC

Since her chorus teacher doesn't actually sponsor events like these,
I was the one that signed her up as her parent. Which meant I had to
be there with her throughout the day. I LOVED it so much.
They were phenomenal and their clinician was so fun and encouraging.

Here's a link to the concert.
Mine and Caroline's favorite songs are:
3:27 Psalm of Triumph
8:58 Measure Me Sky
20:37 Down in the River to Pray
SO GOOD!!
It's the type of concert that I just wanted to share with people.
It was knock-your-socks-off good.
If Caroline makes it again next year, I hope some family can come out and watch.

We stopped at Pack's Tavern in Asheville on the way home.

While I was sitting in the auditorium listening to rehearsals,
I got to play a lot of wingspan.

I usually just play the computer, but these
were a couple games against real people.
They're good!

I made a friend on the walking trails one day this month!
We were both bird watching.
We are both named Andrea.
And she pronounces it the same way.
We both lost our grandmas recently that we were really close to.
We're both half Mexican and it
was our Mexican Grandma that we lost.
AND she works in the dental field!
Is that CRAZY???
We exchanged numbers and walked together another time or two.
I thought she was my new bestie.
But then she stopped returning my texts. :/

Dinner with Bea and Maureen

Here's the official photo from Andrew's training
for stake presidents with General Authorities
in Atlanta last month.
There's so many that it's kind of a Where's Waldo?

We treated ourselves to Krispy Kreme after cleaning the church.

I had to replace the ballast on the fluorescent light
in my closet. It was nuts. I had to cut wires.
It felt like I was diffusing a bomb.
But it worked!
