Snuggle time with Hunter
Our Volley Llamas team is so much fun.
We win about half of our games.
Catch glimpses of B on instagram. :)
Our new Halloween chalkboard sign.
This hangs at the hall by the girls' bathroom.
Snuggle time with both Jackson and Hunter.
My 6.5 combo team won our local division and
we get to go to states AGAIN! This team is amazing.
I've played on it for three years and we've gone
to the state tournament every year. Woo hoo!
I actually got to play in the playoff this year.
It was close, but we pulled off the win. Yes!
Care Bear's second bouldering comp this season
was in Durham at a brand new Triangle Rock Club.
The gym is AMAZING.
Look at those forearm muscles!
And her flexibility!
She is so fun to watch climb!
She took fifth place out of 14 girls.
That's awesome!
But she wasn't happy with her finish this time.
I think because she finished fourth
last time, she was hoping to do as well or better.
Andrew and I had the special opportunity to
attend the Raleigh Temple Rededication.
The stake only got ten tickets, so we felt
privileged to be there. We carpooled up with
Trevor and Heather.
Elder M. Russell Ballard dedicated the temple.
He was accompanied by Elders Kevin R. Duncan
and James B. Martino.
The dedication was wonderful. A really sweet spirit there.
We got to shake all of their hands at the end,
which was cool, too.
Whitney auditioned and got several parts for
the upcoming production of A Christmas Carol: The Musical
at High Point Community Theatre.
She had her first cast meeting this month.
Lots of rehearsals ahead!
A couple Volley Llamas action shots.
Giving my valuable coaching advice. :)
Finley and Natalie came to watch a game,
which was so nice!
The Builder's Club volunteered at the Fall Festival
at Haynes-Inman school. It is a school for kids
with special needs. Love watching this
girl get involved in the community.
Both Whitney and Ember were selected
for All-County chorus this year.
Glad we could be there to watch them,
even though the auditorium
was FREEEEEEZING.
They sounded amazing.
B-train had some days off for fall break,
so we got him on the shuttle up to South Jordan.
Grandma took him out for sushi.
They visited with Grandma Hiatt.
And Reagan got them tickets to watch the
BYU football homecoming game.
It was COLD, but such a good game.
They had a great time.
Continuing to rock Space Invaders
Several months ago we found out that Andrew is
related to Brother Heap, a stalwart member of our ward.
We invited him over one Sunday afternoon to teach
us about our common ancestor.
His memory is amazing and we were so happy
to learn more about Shadrach and Betsy Roundy.
Parents were invited to attend YW in Excellence,
where the upcoming YW were introduced and recognized.
Caroline is SO excited to move up to YW.
Fall chorus concert. Always a pleasure to listen to
this talented choir!
I got to chaperone C's field trip to the zoo.
It was so fun!
We had a BIG group of girls.
Luckily, they were well-behaved.
Caroline's two school besties,
Sarah and Alexis.
When the official field trip was over,
C and I got to go back into the zoo for a bit,
just the two of us.
She requested dipping dots.
So fun to spend the day with her.
I'll occasionally get random texts from B.
This one was letting me know
that he ran a 5k with a friend.
Surprise!
Didn't think running was his thing!
I guess in college you can try whatever you want.
It's starting to look like fall!
It was Spirit Week at Penn Griffin.
It's a big competition between grade levels,
with different events and dress-up days.
Whit was all in, but didn't share many pics.
She did stay up LATE one night making this
tablet for the Statute of Liberty contest.
Doesn't it look amazing?
She helped the sophomores win that event!
TRUNK OR TREAT
We had Minnie Mouse and a Hogwart's student.
Andrew made his annual chili.
It was a fun night at the church.
Instead of taking our annual Pilot Mountain Hike,
I talked the family into branching out this year.
We woke up early (the part they didn't like)
and drove up to Virginia.
We passed beautiful countryside with lots of barns.
Why do they put a quilt square on the side?
Some parts were foggy and looked mysterious...
Some parts had beautiful fall foliage.
Our destination:
Grayson Highlands State Park,
recommended by one of C's teachers.
Not a bad view!
We started hiking on the Rhododendron Trail.
It was a GORGEOUS fall day for hiking.
The main attraction for why we wanted to try this new place:
WILD PONIES!!!
What?
They were SO cute.
You're not supposed to touch them,
but you could get really close.
It was awesome.
Totally worth waking up early!
Splits Across America
We packed a lunch and ate at some picnic tables there.
It was so pretty that I wanted to go on another hike to
a nearby waterfall.
Andrew and Whitney were on board with that.
Caroline? Not so much.
She was grumpy the whole time.
But she hung in there.
And we made it to this pretty waterfall at the end!
More Splits Across America
And more barns with quilt squares on the way home.
We made a quick stop in Mt. Airy at a soda shop.
The girls got ice cream cones.
I got a sundae, Andrew a shake. Yum.
Celeste spent the month playing in Vietnam.
Sent us some cool pics.
Adams Farm won our division in tennis. Woot!
So fun to play with these ladies!
Trick or Treating got cancelled this year because of threats
of severe weather. Boo! I didn't know that was a thing!
This is what the sky looked like at 4:30.
It did quickly get yucky, with tornado warnings.
I get it was a good thing.
But what am I going to do with all that candy I bought???
I just loved reading this - all of it made me so happy!
ReplyDeleteWell, that would be something if grandpa wrote that - I guess I'm logged in under his name. I should have left it the way it was and you could have been shaking your head over grandpa writing something like that on a blog :-)
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha! I think I would've guess that it was YOU. :)
