What March Looked Like

March! It's a great month!

Jenae and I planned another temple together after
our random run-in last time. So fun to visit all the
way up to the temple and back. Love it.

Young Women's activity

Beautiful sight at sunrise at the lake.

C continues to improve at silks.
She's learning new things all the time.

She LOVES silking and looks forward to her
classes every week.

She didn't like the lyra at first because it
was painful, but she's getting used to it now
and really enjoys it.

Acro yoga with Sabrina

We had a stake bowling activity that was lots of fun.

Gas prices are going up! Yuck.

I got to donate blood.
I often get turned away because I don't have
enough iron, so I was happy to be eligible this time.

Girls night!
Oh, how I love laughing with these friends.
Martha, me, Laura, Shani, Bea, Shelly

Glow-in-the-dark dodgeball combined activity

Super fun

Ruby crowned kinglet!!!
It's so fun to actually see birds that I know!

Still going up....

Little dead snake on the walking trail.

Backyard firepit fun.
Care Bear is awesome at starting fires on her
own with flint and steel.

Caroline was chosen for All-State Chorus!
She got to spend the day in Winston
with a bunch of other singing middle schoolers.

That afternoon, we got to head up there to hear her concert.

It was great!

Caroline, Lucky, and Ms. Porter, their chorus teacher

Pi Day!

Had the sister missionaries over.

One of the funnest things about March was
TIME OUT FOR WOMEN in Raleigh!
Tony was speaking, so I got a VIP seat and Marianne
got to join me. And we ran into so many friends.

Tony with his adoring fans

Rebecca Mathews, a sister from my ward

Andrew came up on Fri night and
we went out to dinner with Tony.

So fun to spend a little time together.

The Bonner Family singers are AMAZING.
I love them SO much.

Amy

Tony's turn to speak

He's so good at what he does!
Love listening to him.

The other BIG event in March:
High Point Ward boundary changes!
Andrew and his counselors have been working
on this for over a year. It was a BIG deal.
The Lakefield and High Point wards were discontinued.
Many High Point ward members were added in to our
ward and we are now called the Pleasant Garden Ward.
Isn't that a fun name?
There is SO MUCH work to be done with a new ward!
But it's exciting.

Whitney and some friends at school

One of the Youtubers that the girls like is
Micara Tewers.

White did some fan art and it was featured
at the end of one of Micara's videos. So cool!

Twinners!

B is coaching one of the climbing teams at Contact.
He had some comps in Cali.
On the way to one of them, he and his friends
stopped to climb at Joshua Tree.

So pretty!

He said it wasn't his fave national park, though.
He felt like it was small and crowded.

Swarm game!

Mason, Skyler, and Whit
after a concert at school.

Sweet Frog to celebrate afterward

The girls had a teacher workday on a Friday in March.
I had Andrew take the day off of work and we spent it together.
First up: Family Baptisms at the temple. Loved it!

Lunch at Virlie's Grill in Pittsboro.
It was just ok.

Then ax throwing and knife throwing.
Whit was awesome with the knives!

This was Andrew's first time trying it
and he was a natural.

Care Bear loves stuff like this.

So fun.

I was really bad with the knives,
but was happy with this ax kill shot. :0

Super fun way to spend the day.

The ax throwing place is an interesting little development.

The Lorax is their mascot?
They have some cute stores.
And gardens.
And some playground equipment.

The girls found soda.

Pretty redbuds on the drive home.

I made a jean quilt!
Well, just the quilt top.
But it was a super fun winter project.
And I'm happy with how it turned out.
It's supposed to be a picnic blanket.
But we haven't used it yet...

Cute pic of Scoot!

Oh my gosh.
I had the coolest experience with one of my English students.
His name is Peter. He's from Zambia. I met him in October
at NAI and we had an interesting conversation about church.
I ended up inviting him to church and he came.
He said he liked it and continued coming through the end of the year.
Then I stopped seeing him. I assumed he lost interest.
Then this month, I get a call from the missionaries in the Greensboro
Stake INVITING ME TO HIS BAPTISM!!!
Not only was Peter getting baptized, but so were
two of his brothers! AND his wife and her mother,
who were still back in Zambia had also joined the church!
I couldn't believe it!
It was a wonderful baptism and I got to speak
about the Holy Ghost.

Donald, Peter, and Clement

So grateful for these awesome young men
who have started on the covenant path!

X marks the spot

Whitney's senior photos!
She didn't want professional pics taken.
AND my good camera got stolen.
So we just went to Bicentennial Gardens
and took some pics with my phone!

They turned out pretty good!

She talked Caroline into letting her
bring Bumble and Scoot to the photo shoot.

We even let them run around in the grass for a minute.

Care Bear was very worried we were going to lose one, though.

I finally found the car I wanted!
After driving dozens of cars and doing LOTS of research,
I ended up buying a Mazda CX-5.

I love it!
It is a little squishy for the four of us,
but it will be perfect when Whit moves out in August.

Due to a weird auto market, new cars are actually
the same price as newer used ones.
So I bought my very first new car.
There were 17 miles on it Wow.
It has been fun to drive and gets better gas
mileage than the van did. Yippee!

  1. Oh yay you updated! Those photos of Caroline doing aerial silks are so beautiful, and so are Whit's senior photos. What a wonderful experience having Peter and his family join the church too!
