What Nov 2024 Looked Like

 Marianne and Patrick brought Eden
to Greensboro for a feis!
We always love having them visit!

She's so small compared to the rest of her competitors!

She did great!

Andrew was prepping for Stake Conference,
but the rest of us had fun playing a few games.

Sister Kemp is next to me.
She was born in our ward, moved back to Utah
when she was still really young, then got called to the
Charlotte NC Mission! Seriously!? That's so fun!
This was my first time getting to see her. It was so
fun to have her serving in our ward.

When we have a visiting authority for stake conference,
Andrew has decided he should take the next day off of work.
Yippee for me!
We got to spend the day together.
First up:
dry needling!

Andrew's left leg is still struggling with tightness and
neuropathy a year after surgery. He has found that
dry needling helps. This is the first time I got to go
with him and see the process. He LOVES it!
It hurts so good and helped with his symptoms.
(Although they've never resolved completely...)

Next up: Birding!
Got to see several red-headed woodpeckers,
which we love.

Look at that swelling from the dry needling!

Then out to breakfast at IHOP.

We had our first Rackets and Jackets match of the season.
We won in tiebreak!

My Gerbera Daisy had another bloom!
Seems way too late in the season for that!

More beautiful pics of our girl doing silks!

On one of our last games of the softball season,
Andrew tore his hamstring running the bases.
Nooooo!!!!
He missed the end of the tournament.
And I'm the girl who just tips over and falls
when I'm running the bases...

But we still somehow managed to finish in second!

Such a fun team.

We had to recruit David to play a couple of Racquets and Jackets
matches with me bc of Andrew's injury. We did pretty well!
We even beat Raj and Kelly!

Caroline's high school choir got to perform at their
annual Drive of Honor. They always do a good job and she
had a solo in this song!

The flags outside the school.
I volunteered to help "plant" the flags
so that I could attend the Drive of Honor
and hear Bear sing.

C had never been to Olive Garden!
I can't remember why just the two of us were out,
but we decided to eat there. We both got the AYCE
soup, salad, and pasta. It was SO good. And pretty cheap.
We both thoroughly enjoyed it.
(But we've never gone back...)

C got a pet-sitting gig watching Nala,
Rebecca Mathews' cat.
She looks so cute!

And friendly!

But she is EVIL!

We lost her.
She said meow, meow, meow, meow
the whole time we were with her....
until she snuck away,
ran INSIDE of Rebecca's sofa where we couldn't see her,
then she was COMPLETELY SILENT!
It took us SO long to find her!
It was awful!
We knew we hadn't opened the outside doors,
but she was nowhere to be found!

Finally we found her INSIDE of the sofa.
But then we COULDN'T get her out.
Ugh.
I hate animals.
Especially evil ones....

Do other middle-aged women end up
with bruises and wounds all over
their knees like this?
No?
Just me?

The Khats invited us to another Cambodian celebration
at Wat Greensboro.

It was lovely.

I love getting this glimpse into their culture.

With Sopi and Sedaleak.

Andrew's birthday!
No school for Caroline, so we all went out to
breakfast at Cracker Barrell.

His favorite homemade chocolate cake.

Make a wish!

Cards and gifts

His presidency members HOOKED HIM UP
with the most BYU swag that you ever did see.
He was so thrilled.

He also got new Hoka shoes.
He's SOOOO tall in them!

I'm not sure why I took a picture of the clean dishes.
Maybe I was proud of myself for actually washing them.

Glenda invited me to help her watch her new grandbabies.
Kristen and Michael had twin baby girls and they are ADORABLE!

Yes, please!
Sign me up for babysitting duty!

Check out Monday night football!
They were playing during a blizzard!
It was nuts.

Andrew had a work trip to the Netherlands.
He brought us home some yummy treats!

Caroline has a new chorus teacher this year, Mr. Mason.
He is good at seeking opportunities for the chorus
to perform. One venue that he worked out was
downtown High Point's Christmas Tree lighting.
C had to be there early, but we went a little to watch.
Gorgeous sunset.

The chorus is small, but they did a good job.

It's a cute little celebration.
Not so crowded as Greensboro's.

The tree lighting

The kids got Andrew a fun BYU card game for
his birthday. It mostly features BYU football players
from the past, but one of the wild cards is
THE COUGAR TAIL! Ha ha ha!

Caroline needed her wisdom teeth out.
And to minimize the her days off of school,
we decided to schedule it on the day before Thanksgiving.
It went smoothly and she recovered well.
Grateful to have that out of the way while she's still
living at home and we could take care of her.

Surgery is never fun.
But she was a trooper!
(Are you supposed to spell that word "trouper"?)

We subscribed to Netflix for a month so
we could just veg at home and binge shows.

Um....the bad news.
Andrew brought home COVID from the Netherlands!
NOOOOOOO!
Thanksgiving is one of his favorite holidays!
AND he's the one who always cooks the turkey!
UUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!

Guess what that meant????
The vegetarian daughter and anti-meat Mom were in charge
of making the turkey. It was AWFUL!
We hated it SOOOOO much!

We had to touch it!
Disgusting!
I hope I never have to do that again!

It turned out pretty, though.

We had to make a plate for Andrew and leave it
outside his door. It was no bueno. Not a fun
way to spend a holiday weekend.

Some of the dishes we brought to the Hunters.

We had such a fun afternoon.
The sister missionaries came over, including Taylor,
our friends' daughter. And I invited the Khats to join
us and a few of them came! I loved it.

B sent me this photo of Thanksgiving in Snowflake
with Paul's family and my parents.

Caroline and I set up Christmas.
Yippee!

And I set up my puzzle table and started my first puzzle of the season.
It's the most wonderful time of the year!
