We did a random, super fun Goth photo shoot
of W in her prom dress, crazy hair, and lots of make-up.
We had lots of "lasts" as Whit got ready to move out.
My girls sang around the piano for me.
Oh, how I'll miss having Whitney's voice in our house!
Care Bear and I went out to watch a meteor shower together.
It was pretty good. We saw a few, but not a ton.
Girls camp!
Even though I was released from YW back in March,
I had already been on the stake camp committee, so they
asked if I would still come to camp. I don't like camping.
I was tempted to say no.
But I'm so glad I decided to go.
This was Care Bear's first time going to a real camp because
of COVID. She LOVED it. And it was Whit's last camp,
so I was super happy that I could be there with both of them.
I was in charge of the service projects.
We brought the good ol' trusty bag mats.
They are such a great, easy project.
We also wrote cards to hospitalized kids
through Letters of Love Global.
The Pleasant Garden Girls.
One night the girls went star gazing in the canoes.
What a cool activity!
We got a whole bunch of mats done.
It was awesome to be able to deliver five to the shelter.
It was fun to get to know some new girls from the stake, too.
Pleasant Garden!
Our girls had a great time.
We did have some drama at the beginning of the week.
And Becky and I had to drive a YW halfway home,
where we met her mom. That was not fun.
Our walk of light.
Or faith.
Or something uplifting like that.
It was interesting to see the sand along the trails.
Sand and forest don't mix in my mind,
but we were fairly close to the coast, so I guess
that's how it goes.
Bishop Monson was out of town, so his counselor,
Brother Skidmore joined us on our last evening.
It's so fun having such a big group of girls!
This was my cabin-mate, Suzanne.
I LOVED getting to know her throughout the week.
She is awesome and we have hung out a couple
times since then.
After camp, I hurried home to celebrate Natalie's 40th
birthday with her. So fun!
It was supposed to be a fun tennis evening with friends.
But the weather didn't cooperate.
We still had fun with good food and chatting with friends.
Andrew gave the girls priesthood blessings
before the start of their new school year.
I asked thee big kids to send me pics of
their first day of school.
I was so happy they obliged!
Looking good and ready to learn!
Right when I got back from Utah,
the Winston-Salem Open was in town.
Andrew and I had a fun night watching tennis.
We were watching a fantastic match!
It was close and intense.
The weather was great.
Love this chance to watch the pros once a year.
But then the skies opened up and it started POURING rain.
We didn't get to see the end of the match. Darn.
When we were driving home from Winston,
I started feeling sick.
I took a COVID test, but it came back negative.
When my symptoms didn't go away, I took
another COVID test a couple days later...
Darn. After two and half years, COVID finally got me.
I got to spend LOTS of time in my room.
I felt so bad that Drew had to drive C to school AGAIN
because I was sick. Lame.
It was nice to get spoiled and be served dinner in bed, though. :)
While I was quarantining, I downloaded the Wingspan
app to play on my phone. It is SO fun!
I may be addicted. :)
Andrew's mom sent him this shirt that just
says "Sorry" on the back. Ha!
It's perfect for when we're watching
something and the people behind
us can't see over the tall guy. Love it.
We had our first video call of the school year with the kids
and they were TOGETHER. It made my mama heart happy.
(It didn't happen again the rest of the school year.)
B was at W's apt helping her fix the door handle of her car.

Homemade tortillas
Love watching the hummers out our window.
This mini pineapple plant at Trader Joe's was SO CUTE.
I was super tempted to buy it for Care Bear.
But she already has SO MANY plants...
Oh hooray you updated! I loved all the photos of you wonderful people, sorry you got Covid, but dinner in bed was sweet! The photos of girls camp were so fun, especially star gazing from canoes and the fantastic service project!!
