It was almost time for Whit to move back to Utah for
school, so we snuck in one more day trip for the girls.
We went to Moses Cone Manor.
So pretty!
Then hiked at Rough Ridge, one of my fave
hiking spots in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Look at those views!
Oh, it makes my heart happy.
Love spending time with these two.
And then we went to Blowing Rock, one of
Whit's favorite mountain towns.
The flowers were GORGEOUS!
This cute quilt store reminded me of Grandma Sweat.
And then we ate at our favorite little English Pub.
Amazing sunset
And then Whit was off!
We loved having her home for the summer,
but are happy for her to keep pursuing her education.
Grandma sent me this pic of her starting the
drive back to St. George.
Softball season is starting, so Andrew
and I went to the park so I could practice.
So fun.
Is this picture HILARIOUS????
That's Andrew with our stake communications
specialist, Wendy. It honestly looks like one
of those illusions. BUT IT'S NOT. Ha ha ha!
Still getting hummers.
Love watching them.
Beautiful sunset over Adams Farm Lake.
Love finding random pics of
Caroline and Mallory.
This was one of the craziest games of Pandemic!
Look at how many cities were infected!
And we somehow still pulled off the win.
Found this dead beautiful moth on my morning walk.
Firsts day of Sophomore Year!
Caroline had a great freshman year
at NCLA and she's looking forward
to starting her second year there.
On my neighborhood walk, a giant tree had fallen
down and was blocking my path.
Loving getting pics of Caroline's
day when she posts Be Reals at school.
An ABBA tribute band came to town,
so of course we had to get tickets!
This dancing queen was ready to go.
It was at the Tanger Center downtown.
We stopped by the fountains and took a few pics.
These were out most ABBA-esque outfits.
IT WAS THE BEST!
Oh my gosh.
Every song was a sing-along.
All three of us loved it SO MUCH.
Andrew commented at the end that there is probably
not another music group out there that we would
all enjoy as much as we did that concert.
August is also Winston-Salem Open time.
Spent a fun day at the tennis courts.
So fun to watch the players up close.
We saw some good matches.
At English school one day,
my friends had me try on this interesting headwrap. :)
I found out they were trying to sell it to me. Ha.
Isn't this purse awesome???
A few years ago, I saw it at Aunt Irene's house when we were visiting.
I commented on it and she told me that it belonged to my
Great-Grandma Andrea, my namesake.
I asked her if I could have it when she passed away.
Is that rude?
Anyway, Irene agreed that it made sense that I should get it.
Well, when we were in Abilene last month, she
brought the purse and gave it to me!
She told me she didn't think she needed to wait until she died.
How sweet is that? I love it so much!
My next step in getting my license was to pass the
knowledge-based board. I studied SO MUCH for this
thing! I was super nervous about it.
It's given on the computer at Prometric Testing Center,
here in town.
I had to re-learn oral anatomy, pathology, radiology,
pharmacology. I was using parts of my brain that hadn't
been used in YEARS. The girls helped me on our road trips
this summer. They were awesome and so helpful. Whit will
have an advantage when she has to take it in a few years. :)
They don't tell your score, just give you a pass or a fail.
And I passed on my first try!
Yippeee!!!!
We went out for dinner at Sweet Old Bill's in High Point
to celebrate. It's one of my faves.
Jayne and I took a day trip to Thomasville and Lexington.
Had fun checking out the street art.
And I LOVE this pottery store in Lexington.
Stopped in a little art gallery in High Point.
This cardigan reminded me of something
Whitney would make.
Caroline and I participated in a cultural
event for refugees downtown.
It was marketed as a Unity Walk.
I didn't quite know what I was getting us into.
But they had fun international performers after the walk.
It was a HOT day, so we didn't stay too long.
But we enjoyed our time while we were there.
Ran into Veronique again.
Brianna and Care Bear ready for a church dance--
it was western-themed.
Fun tennis with Drew
Fun birding with Drew
Love seeing birds of prey
And woodpeckers
And egrets
And ended the month with another beautiful sunrise.
That picture where Andrew looks like a giant is hilarious! Caroline looks cute with her braided hair for the western dance. This was a very cultural post, so colorful!
ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud when I saw that picture of Andrew and the girl! So many beautiful photos!! And congrats on passing your boards!
