I got put in the row with ALL the legroom.
It was dreamy!
We had some time to ourselves to hang out.
Barb took me to a super fun Christmas expo.
It was a giant, indoor maker market.
So big!
We had a great time walking around.
I love seeing people's creativity.
Chinese calligraphy
I got to meet Grandpa Beck!!
Ducks galore
These pastries looked amazing.
We found a few gifts!
I left some for Whit that could just stay in Utah and
not have to go back-and-forth to NC.
We also love stopping at Le Petit Maison.
Oh my gosh.
It is one of my favorite stores!
So so cute!
I mostly just window shop,
but I love it.
We stopped at a yummy Thai restaurant nearby.
The owner was super talkative.
She sprouts her own beans.
We went downtown to Temple Square for a bit.
Stopped by the Conference Center
The temple is still under construction.
And the church office building.
And then we spent quite a bit of time in the
Church History Museum.
They had a phenomenal art exhibit.
Loved walking around and taking it all in.
This stained glass is awesome.
Love the church artwork from around the world.
Stunning!
Cool sunset with the sun beams coming through.
Tree of life!
It was snowing on the way into Walmart
Can you see the little flakes??
And then on Saturday we were off to BYU for the game!
We like to ride Frontrunner down there.
We got there early and went to the Museum of Art first.
It was COLD!
We dressed in layers and brought blankets.
I had hand warmers and Barb had bought
lap warmers that were fabulous!
We got down there for the Cougar Canyon--
where the players walk through the corridor
of fans. Go Cougs!
We ate at the food trucks there.
I love CupBop!
Ready for the game!!
Barb got her CougarTail!
The marching band is always fun to watch.
Pre-game fireworks
These were the guys sitting next to us.
They were a hoot!
Fun to chat with as we watched.
The game itself was A BUST! Waaaaaa!
The Cougars NEVER lose at home at night!
But we were there for the one game that they did!
Booooooo!
It was so lame.
And then we had issues getting home!
The Frontrunner schedule said they stayed open late for certain events,
including BYU home games. But when we got to the station, it said their
last train had already departed. Thumbs down!!!
So Dennis had to drive down and rescue us.
(But then while we were waiting for him, a last train
did come through--too late for us.)
And then on Sunday morning, I was on a plane to get back home.
Not sure why I look so serious...
Beautiful sunrise from the airport. :)
Even though the Cougs lost, it was still fun to be in Lavell Edwards Stadium. We'll hope for better results next year!
