We continued our annual tradition of heading down to Myrtle
for Veteran's Day weekend. Love that little break.
When we got there on Fri night, it was nice and warm!
Andrew and I went for a romantic beach stroll.
Love it.
The next morning the temps had dropped.
Too chilly to swim in the ocean this year.
We stayed at King's Plantation, so we used their pool instead.
I had scheduled a dolphin-watching trip for us that afternoon.
Right when we were getting ready to leave, they called
us to let us know that they had to cancel it due to windy conditions.
Boooooo!
Instead we headed down to the boardwalk.
We spent some quality time at Fun Plaza,
our favorite arcade.
Whitney won the baseball game!
And so did I! Woot!
Andrew won a HUGE bonus on Plinko!
And these two nailed Down the Clown.
We went to Broadway at the Beach and watched
the new version of Grinch. It was pretty good.
When we came out, it was dark and we could see this
pretty ferris wheel all the way on the other side of the
shopping center:
But I REALLY wanted a picture of it,
so we walked around a bit.
And I'm so glad we did!
We found:
Kwik E Mart!!!
It's new. So fun!
We also found a magic shop where Drew bought some
new tricks. A kite store, where we found a new kite
and bought a new beach ball game, kind of like bocce.
Andrew's birthday dinner request: Bimini's,
the local seafood place that we discovered last year and loved.
Yum!
We went to sacrament meeting on Sunday morning.
We ran into the Skidmore's, who used to be in our ward!
Small world!
After church, it was time for family photos on the beach.
My favorite!
We changed out of our church clothes,
ate lunch, and headed back down to the beach.
We love this action shot!
(Andrew was not hurt in the taking of this photo.)
B is prepping for his parts in the Nutcracker again this year.
This year he is Snow King again, and also the Wolf.
This is his Wolf jump. Rawr!
This is our new game we bought at the kite store.
All of us liked it!
Then I made everyone change AGAIN to take
casual sunset pics on the beach.
(My family is so awesome for putting up with my demands!)
Christmas card worthy. :)
One of my favorites!
Oh, how I love these three!
We're going through lots of "lasts", with this being
Brandon's senior year. Even though I'm not the most
sentimental person, it's sad (and weird!) to think he won't
be with us at the beach next year.
Celebrated Andrew's birthday with a scrumptious
store-bought chocolate cake that night.
Care Bear and I were early risers on Monday morning
and went for a walk on the beach.
She took our kite all the way to the end of the string!
I was hoping to reschedule our dolphin trip for Monday
morning, but the weather still wasn't great.
We went to an escape room instead.
That was a lot of fun.
We made it out with three and a half minutes to spare! Phew!
Super fun long weekend getaway.
Nailed it.
So many great photos! And B is so strong!
