What November Looked Like

Driving by cotton fields makes me think of Grandma Cuca,
who tells me stories about picking cotton whenever we see one.

My 6.5 combo team at States!
So fun to be there with these ladies!

My partner, Heather, and I took a little trip to the beach to walk in the sand.

It was a glorious day!
Grateful that Wilmington had recovered enough
from Hurricane Florence to host us!

Our team!
Back row: Rebecca, Ronette, Me, Brenda, Teresa, Heather, Lynette
Front: Debbie and Jennifer
We did GREAT at States, winning four of our five matches.
Unfortunately, another team in our bracket won all five
of their matches, so we didn't make it to the finals.
Heather and I didn't play great together.
We lost our first two matches BAD and then won our last match convincingly.
Always fun to hang out, eat good food, and play tennis with friends.

Got to do some shopping at the Cotton Exchange.

Fall is here!

Seminary teamwork object lesson--
building a staircase for Savannah to climb.

Visiting the kitties at Michelle's house.

Adorable!!!

I love how our Camellia blooms in the fall.
So fun to have some color when everything else dies.

A downtown mural that reminds us of Rosie A.

End-of-season party with my Gate City Tennis team.

C at her awards ceremony.

She killed it.

Nutcracker portraits!!!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

Grant could it make it to picture day,
so B stepped in. So happy I got pics of these two.

Jayne was in town for Thanksgiving, so we had a
GNO for our friends who weren't traveling.
So great to catch up!

Over Thanksgiving break, I took B and C bouldering at Moore's Wall.

It was COLD.

But they had a great time climbing.

And I liked watching them.

And spotting B.

Sharing beta.

Cool moss/mushroomy thing

The giant leaves we found on the way back to the car.

C loves Llamas!

Time to start cooking for the big turkey day!
I was so happy to have help in the kitchen.
Making Grandma Cuca's red and white jello salad.

Grasshopper pie

W made this apple pie by herself. So good.

Andrew did an AMAZING job on the turkey!
It was delicious!

The Hunter's hosted us again.

Turkey leg heaven

The adults

Shae, Bella, and Whit got to attend a Hamilton master class in Cary.
They had a fabulous time.

Time to decorate!

Mistletoe!

Also over the break, C and I visited the science center.

One night of the break, we had friends over to play games.
The Rosiers, Greenwoods, Leinbachs all made it.
I didn't get any pics of our friends...
but isn't my cheese plate pretty? :)

Also over the break, we met Ryan, Destinee, and family
at our favorite bowling alley in Newton.

Lunch with Maureen and Bea

B made FIRST CHAIR in All-County Band this year!
Super proud of him.

I'm always impressed with how well the band can sound
after only playing together for two days.

The last day of November was the Festival of Lights downtown.
Always fun to spend time there.

We love listening to random live bands.

We ran into Sister Cook, who served in our ward a while back.
So fun to see her before she finished her mission!

Cute window display at Scuppernong Books

Sarah came with us.

And the girls ran into another classmate, Riley.

The city tree, all lit up!
November was a GREAT month.
